Effie Mitsopoulou
Effie has been advising employers for more than 30 years on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, including data privacy related issues.
She has handled a wide spectrum of complex employment matters, including inter alia business restructurings, cross-border transactions, redundancy plans, termination of employment and post-employment restrictions, executives’ contracts and separation arrangements, independent contractors’ issues, new forms of employment etc.
Effie has also advised many leading multinationals on privacy related matters, whistleblowing schemes and monitoring issues, focusing on employees’ personal data. She is well-versed in the challenges relating to the lawful management of data and supports clients before the Greek Data Protection Authority.
Ranked several times as a highly recommended Leading Lawyer in employment law by Chambers Europe and Legal 500, Effie has been recognized by clients and peers as a “household name for employment law” in Greece (Chambers Europe 2019).
She has published numerous articles on employment law issues and has participated as a speaker on employment law and data protection conferences both in Greece and abroad.
Effie is a member of the International Bar Association, the European Employment Lawyers’ Association (EELA) and the Editorial Board of the EELC Review (European Employment Law Cases).
She is a graduate of the University of Aix- Marseille (Maîtrise en Droit International 1982), King’s College, University of London, (LLM 1983) and was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 1986.
Prior to founding lawspace, Effie was a Partner and Head of the Employment and Data Protection law practice at a leading business law firm in Athens and has also worked at the Legal Department of the National Bank of Greece.
Effie is fluent in Greek, English and French.

Zozo has been advising private clients, domestic and international, focusing mainly in commercial, real estate and inheritance law issues. Her private practice includes purchase and sale of properties, commercial and residential lease agreements, as well as advisory work with respect to inheritance, wealth transfer planning, tax and real estate law. She also represents foreign trusts and advises on related legal matters.
She is an experienced and highly respected litigator, representing clients before all Greek Courts and has handled numerous cases on civil, commercial and real estate law, contract disputes, as well as tort and debt collection.
She has successfully served for more than 10 years as chief legal counsel of a major TV channel and other radio and music companies, acquiring thus important expertise in broadcast law and intellectual property matters.
Zozo has graduated from the Athens University Law School in 1983 and was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 1985.
She is fluent in Greek and English.

Penny ’s practice includes Information Technology and Data Protection law, Civil Law (both consulting and litigation) and Family law.
She has considerable experience in the field of data privacy and the GDPR, having completed her training with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), as well as having collaborated with the law firm Srouji Avocats in Paris, focusing on GDPR matters.
She has served as legal adviser of “GFOSS – Open Technologies Alliance Non-Profit Organization”.
Penny is a graduate of the University of Athens, Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration and has obtained a Licence en droit from the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord (2015) and a Master’s degree in Information and New Technologies Law from the Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (2016).
She was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 2018.
She is fluent in Greek, English and French.
